Résumé

Ilya Asminkin

Full-stack product engineer

I take web products from design through deployment and keep them running. Writing software since 2009, when it was C++ and C#/.NET data-collection applications used by field teams across Uzbekistan; today it is Next.js, Node and PostgreSQL, self-hosted on infrastructure I administer myself. Strongest on the work most contractors avoid: inheriting a half-built codebase and getting it to production.

Let’s build something useful.

Experience

2020 — Present

Independent Product Engineer

Self-employed · Tashkent

  • Design, build, deploy and operate complete web products end to end, with selected projects listed below. Front end, API, database schema, auth, payments, infrastructure and uptime. Solo on most, alongside a small team where the project calls for it.
  • Standard stack is Next.js, React and TypeScript over Node/Express and PostgreSQL, containerised with Docker and self-hosted behind nginx, Caddy and Cloudflare on servers I administer.
  • Built multi-tenant SaaS with tenant-scoped data access, real-time availability and booking engines, payment integration, and multi-language products serving Russian, Uzbek and English users.
  • Shipped two production LLM products — document-analysis pipelines with structured, checkable output rather than raw model responses, plus the evaluation and data plumbing that makes them reliable.
  • Regular work includes taking over half-finished codebases: auditing them, stabilising them and getting them to production.
2025 — Present

Data Analytics & IT Specialist

INDEX Consulting Agency · Tashkent

  • Lead data management, statistical analysis and IT delivery across consulting engagements for public institutions, donor organisations and private clients.
  • Design and maintain structured databases with data-quality and validation controls; build the pipelines that turn raw administrative and survey data into dashboards and reporting.
2009 — 2015

Researcher & Data Systems Developer

TAHLIL Center for Social Research, Center for Economic Research, IFMR · Tashkent

  • Built Windows data-entry and reporting applications in C++ Builder and C#/.NET used by field teams across Uzbekistan — the first software of mine that other people depended on daily.
  • Designed and maintained relational databases for large-scale public-health and social monitoring programmes, including Global Fund (malaria elimination) and UNICEF (child poverty) studies.
  • Implemented data-cleaning pipelines and quality-control checks, and computed the monitoring indicators reported to international partners and government counterparts.
  • Contributed to national reform projects with UNDP, UNICEF, the World Bank and ADB: instrument design, sampling, large survey dataset management and statistical analysis.
2015 — 2020

Teaching Assistant & Course Instructor

University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign · Illinois, USA

  • Taught Introduction to Sociology and statistics / data-analysis courses for 2nd–4th year undergraduates; built curricula and led discussion sections.
  • Trained students in applied statistical computing (SPSS, Stata) — years of practice explaining technical material to people who do not share your vocabulary, which is most of what client work asks for.
